17th of May!

Constitution Day in Norway is a huge deal (kind of like our 4th of July). Everybody dresses up (women in the traditional “bunad”) and gathers for parades, programs, food, and games. Our neighborhood school kids presented a parade and program, and we got to join in the festivities!

Can you see Joseph?

Parents walk behind the kids in the parade. Carl is next to our friend, Elisabeth Karlsson.

Gathering at the school.

Fun games! I especially liked the pillow contest. Norwegian kids are pretty tough and do a lot of outdoor activity, so we’ve got to beef our boys so they hold their own in next year’s contest :)

We used our outdoor fireplace to cook some tasty kabobs! The kids from next door, Aleksander and Angelica, joined us for the meal. Their family is from Poland, and they have four kids, too (twin baby girls)!

Happy New Year!

Didn’t I take any pictures of Christmas?! Where are they? Maybe I’ll have to mooch some from other family members…

Mother’s Day 2009

I love Mother’s Day! I love all the little (often hand or school-made) cards, gifts, and services–and I especially love the KIDS! :)

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny came, and we had Aunt Beth for dinner!
