10-Year Anniversary Cruise!

July 2009 marked the 10th anniversary of our marriage! So we booked a cruise with Royal Caribbean. Neither of us had ever cruised before. We loved it! Left the kids with Aunt Janet for a weekend, and the rest of the time with Grandma Jane (oodles of thanks to both of them!). It was such a nice getaway.

Shipped out of Florida the end of September. First stop was Key West.

“Little White House” in Key West

Second stop was Cosumel, Mexico. We traveled by boat and bus to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum. We were already with a tour group, but LDS tour guides spotted us right away (because of our “glow” :) ), and gave us some additional insights. We really enjoyed visiting the ruins.

Huge storm blew in. A Carnival cruiseliner actually bumped into our ship because of the wind! We got soaked on our way in from the tour.

Last stop was Belize where we squished on a speed boat and went snorkeling. That was a really cool experience, too, but I don’t have a picture :( .

While at sea, we were well entertained and well fed! There were shows every night, and all sorts of fancy food. Carl enjoyed talking to the musicians, and singing karaoke, of course. We had fun meeting people, and just being together. Wish I had more pictures of the ship’s interior…

Annie’s First Birthday!

It’s amazing to think back one year, and remember her as a brand-new baby! It’s so fun to watch her grow…we all love her to death. (But, man, she keeps me hopping nowadays!)

Update: She’s not walking yet, but has great crawling and climbing skills. She says/whispers “I,” which we think means “hi.” Still hoping for some more hair and a few more teeth! :)

You may wonder why there’s no cake–we’ve been saving it to share with the extended family at our Snowbird reunion. We’ll post more pictures later.

Jug milk with her Cheerios! What a milestone!

Sammy’s 4th Birthday!

Sam turned 4 years old! I decided to try my hand at a Wall-E cake. He got some water toys/plastic pool, and a dance cam that lets him watch himself dancing with characters on the TV. (Sam loves to see himself on camera.) Carl was heading out of town for work, so we celebrated twice–cake and presents with Dad the night before, then a waterfight on the night of!

Mother’s Day 2009

I love Mother’s Day! I love all the little (often hand or school-made) cards, gifts, and services–and I especially love the KIDS! :)

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny came, and we had Aunt Beth for dinner!

Christmastime Remembered

Better late than never! We had a great Christmas! The boys were off track for most of December, which was nice–still busy, but less so. :) We were going to visit family on Christmas Day, but there was a big snowstorm, so we hung out at home and enjoyed our little family (Christmas Eve as well). We had fun with extended family and friends on the days surrounding! (The boys got some Lego Star Wars sets from Santa! They loved them, and spent many busy hours putting them together.)

Handsome Boys

Thought it would be fun to share this years’ school pictures (taken last fall).
